1. What have you learned about writing in the last ten weeks? These last weeks have been great for me i have learned a lot from grammar to write complete and acure sentences.



2. How does this help you in school? work? personal life?This writing class has helped me in school in the way so that I can share my ideas with other students and come up with better writing strategies. Also, to use standard english rules of grammar,punctuation,and mechanics in a paragraph writing . At work, this class helps me in differents ways. I have learned about spelling and grammar so when I am writting an e-mail or doing memos for any costumer i double check my work . Finally, my personal life is improving more than i thought. I feel more secure when I am writing a paper or helping others with their writing strageties.


3. What were your three midterm goals? have you met those goals? how? if not, what tools do you need to meet those goals? The goals were to be able to write in perfect standard American English rules of grammar , make the reader get into my story when he/she is reading my paper and have no spelling errors. I have meet my goals with all the practice and papers that we did in class also the time that we took to check every paper again and correct any mistake.

  How his son change his life. Ever since December 30^th, 2007 his life has changed for the better. Nothing has ever been the same his life style has change , he became for the first time a dad and a responsible parent, and he start planning his work and academic goals for the future. Now his life took a different path and he is going to do the best to follow the right path. An eight pound and nine ounce baby named Jayden was born.
  In the first place he is not longer a normal twenty-two year old, all party nights have changed to night in. All because Jayden counts on him for everything and he trusts him completely. Before Jayden was born a weekend for him will be going parting ,movies, hanging out with friends what a teenager will do at his age. His life style change from one moment to the other but he knows is for the best, he is learning from this new experience. Jayden has changed his life because he teaches him new things every day. Whenever he is upset, he teach him how to smile, Jayden taught him how to love in many ways.
  Besides that his son change his life, he being more responsible now. The word “love “ has a new meaning there is no words to explain how deep the love for his son is. He calls him “daddy”, now that his two year old depends on him he is more responsible. When Jayden needs something he is there for him, cares about him, feed him, makes sure he has everything he needs, and when he gets sick he rush to his doctor to make sure he is ok. A responsible parent has learned a lot from his son and he thanks God for giving him the strength and wisdom to know how to take care of his son. Now Jayden is his other half he takes care of him like nothing else.
  Also school is not just his future, but Jayden as well; in the same manner his job has to be taken seriously. As a result all of his actions have changed. He needs to plans his work and academic goals for now and the future. He cannot take decisions just about himself he needs to think about his son future as well. The job that he has now is not the best but is secure and is a full time job that helps with all expenses in the house. He is going to school now to became a professional and give his son a good life. His he is working in his goals and time goes fast and by the time that little boy growths up he will thanks his that for the type of life he have give to him.
  Finally, that little angel that God has sent him has changed his life for the better. It is amazing how this little human being has changed so many things. Now he understand being responsible is part of being a dad. Also the word love has a new meaning, until this day he is still learning new things from his son. Jayden came to his life to change everything but he do not regret it at all.

1. What is the purpose of your paragraph? Is to inform the causes of dropping out of school for teens.


2. What is the product ? Dropping out of school is an issue faced by many teens today. Dropping out are caused because of family issues like abusive parents,family income,family members dies, teachers.


3. What is the pre-writing strategy? The pre writing strategy that I used is to inform the reader about the causes of teens dropping out from school.


4. How will you begin to write this paragraph? I will begin by my topic sentence then by listing the important cause. The packaging will include my three causes and examples and the conclusion will end with that anything that causes an student to feel unsafe make them drop out.


5. Have you spell your work? After writing my paper I revised again to make sure my spell is good and if i have any questions i will ask my friends in class.


6. Have you used the grammar checker on your word possessing program? When my paper is done I used the grammar checker to make sure my paper is correct.


7. Have you read your paper over to make sure you do not have minor errors? At the end when I am done with my paper I double check for my punctuations to make sure they are placed correctly.

The purpose of my paragraph is to put contrast the city of Miami (USA) and the city of Cartagena (Colombia).

2. What is the product?

The product of my paper is that although Miami and Cartagena both are tropical cities, they offer variety of fun.

My pre-writing strategy is a brainstorming because I capture all my thought,ideas and fragments into my head and writing down on the blog.

My work is double spell checked my friends at class checked for me and I revised again. I used grammar checker on my word possessing program.

I have not used one inch margins and double spaced on my text because since we are doing it on a blog you do not have those options like on Microsoft word.

Dropping out of school is an issue faced by teens today. Students use dropping out of school as a way to escape from their problems. One important cause is family problems. Teens face abusive parents they feel scare and have no support to go back to school. Family income also affects the students because they want to have flashy and expensive clothing to go to school. By no having this type of clothes they think they will look bad going with cheap clothes. Changes on the family environment also affects the student progression. If a parent dies, that will change drastically his progression. They would not be the same anymore and they will just want to be alone and been in their room all day. When the parents give more attention to the other child that affects the teen to drop out of school. Another result is some teachers teach too fast and with the teacher moving too fast causes failure on the grades and makes students to give up. Anything that causes an student to feel unsafe can make them drop out.

• What have you learned about writing in the last four weeks?

When it comes to writing I feel more secure about myself. I would like to be more strict on my work so i could improve every day more and more. Definition is another assignment that we have done in class. I learned how to define something in my own words without doing research. That way, the person that is reading my paper has an idea of what I am defining.

• How does this help your school? work? personal life?

I like the way of how I am improving in class by doing this definition writing. My friends in class and I, as we starting a new assignment, we come up with ideas.Then we help each other correct our assignment. At work, I have to send a lot of emails , faxes and do various types of letters. Definition writing is a good tool at my job because i have improved a lot on looking for a perfect word when sending an e-mail, a fax or a letter to make my work look professional. In my personal life, whenever I did not know the meaning of a word, I would run to the dictionary or the internet to research about it. Now I want to come up with my own ideas that will help me define that word without doing any research.

• Set three writing goals for the remainder of the term. State each goal, explain how you will accomplish the goal, and note any resources you will need.

My three goals will be to define more words , improve at my job and push myself to the limits. When I think of a word and come up with my own ideas to define that word, I help myself open up my mind to learn about the meaning of the word. When it comes to a job, it is very important to do your best so they could notice you like your job and that you want to advance to have a better position. This last assignment about definition made my work easier at my job. I feel more secure when writing an e-mail. I feel that my costumers are reading a well written e-mail. • What have you learned about illustration in the last four weeks?

Illustration is one of my favorite activities that I have learned during the past couple of weeks because it helps me identify myself with an object. Next, I came up with new ideas to describe my personality that help my vocabulary grow to with new words.

• How does this help you in school? work? Personal life?

With my friends in class we share ideas and comments on our classwork. When it comes to doing a draft paper, before completing a final paper, we compare and share constructive comments to improve our work. Every illustrates something different that helps us meet that person and learn about them. At work, I deal with my co-workers every day and by learning about illustration I have the concept of what type of personality my co-workers have. I share my paper about illustration paragraph to my family and they were shocked when I compare myself to the Bible. Illustration makes a good point in my life. I have learned that I can push myself to the limits my family are very proud of the type of personality that I have.

Three writing goals for the term will be to revise the illustration paragraph, correct my grammar and spelling and a guide for writing. My illustration paragraph has a couple of mistakes that I have to correct. For example, I can use different words so my paper looks nice and neat. I would like to write a new illustration paragraph to practice more my spelling and grammar that way I can strengthen my vocabulary.

A good marriage can be defined as a union of two people love that felt in love and are right for each other. A excellent marriage takes team work and both person`s responsibility . For instance, communication is an absolutely important factor in a marriage, like in economic situations. Marriages have their bank account link together so they could know their expenses and have an idea of how much they count on it and how much they can spend. For example, my parents have been married for 25 years I consider this a good marriage. They have followed trust in their relationship without trust they will be going back and forth arguing about each other and never be able to have a good marriage like the one that they have now that for me is a "perfect marriage". Also, a marriage needs equality this makes the marriage stronger as the other factors mentioned before too. There is no "A boss" in a good marriage-both are equal and they should help each other to make their marriage a better one. As without it, one will be always looked down by the other. Communication,trust and equality are Strong factors in a marriage by following these three factor we can create a good marriage.

Topic sentence:Although Miami and Cartagena both are tropical cities,they offer a great variety of fun . 1.climate Miami has a very nice weather during the whole year the winter is very warm and but not that hot as in the summer, but pretty much all the entire year is good to go to the beach. However, Cartagena has a very different climate from Miami is hotter in the summers and the winter is just a couple of degrees low is hard to find cold days in Cartagena . 2.tourists Bayside is a festival marketplace in Downtown Miami. The center attracts an average of fifteen million people annually. On the other hand, in Cartagena Bocagrande (Bigmouth) is a much sought after area with hotels, shops, restaurants, nightclubs and art galleries. While South Beach has an active club and bar scene. Playa blanca (White Beach) this is a remote area with restaurants, beaches but no hotels. Playa Blanca offers white sand and waters of white , green and blue. 3.music Hip-Hop is very popular at the clubs in Miami this type of sound is define by elements such as rapping, DJing, sampling and scratching. Although latin music is very popular at night in Miami and is one of the best types of music that attracts many people to go clubbing like in "Bongos Cuban Cafe" a popular latin club at Biscayne bay .Unlike in Cartegena is not usual to hear this type music "hip-hop" but the latin music is very popular like salsa, merengue and vallenato. Vallenato is currently a popular folk music of Colombia vallenato literally means " born in the valley". In Cartagena like in Bocagrande you could be at the beach relaxing and people will pass by playing this kind of music. Both cities Miami and Cartegena when it comes to have fun it does not matter which city you pick you will enjoy with all the variety that these two cities have to offer.

The topic sentence: The Bible is a book that represents strength and makes me be part of it.

conclusion: A strong person do anything in life to reach the top of the mountain when you have the strength of God.

The Bible is a book that represents strength and makes me be part of it. The movie "The Passion of the Christ (2004)"created a major impact around the world. The Bible describes me in many ways. It shows us why we are here, the way life seems now, and that sometimes we do not understand the negative concerns of life. The Bible is passion, peace, useful, instructional and positive. Since my childhood, my parents taught me the meaning of the Bible. My personality ties me to the Bible when I show love. Now that I am a father, I want my son to know the meaning of love and to feel what is the love of a father; the same way how in "The Passion of Christ" Jesus taught us what love is. I am the head of the household, I pass on a lot of positives thoughts towards my son and wife. The world is colorless with forceful values that not many people understand why negative things happen to them or why the world has become what it seems today. Jesus is a strong man he lives in our hearts, he wants us to live in peace, to give and to share love. My personality is packed with beautiful blessings from God; I am giving my family the same love that Jesus has given us in our hearts just as my parents have showed me their love since my childhood. Life is enlightening everyone to learn from their mistakes. While some mistakes are unimportant, some may take time to correct. Life is a gift from God, everyone`s life is printed in a book, you decide how you want your life to begin and end. "Anything is possible through the Strength of God"Philippians 4:13 NIV, strong people do anything in life to reach the top of the mountain when you have the strength of God. Remember, all you need is a little faith. With faith as little as a grain of mustard, you could move mountains.
